Tropical Rainforest Wedding | Grace Elizabeth | Alternative Wedding Photographer, Colchester, Essex

High fashion. A tropical rainforest. Dip-dye bohemian bespoke wedding dresses. This wasn't a bridal shoot for the faint hearted.

Between myself and Kelly L'Esperance of Miss Fleur Floral Design, a past degree student of our location for the shoot, Writtle College, we set out to create a fierce, empowering, alternative wedding with a twist. Weddings can become repetitive and sometimes identical, so we wanted to challenge the norm.

Our first port of call, was to speak to the wonderful Lucy of Lucy Can't Dance, a bespoke wedding dress maker from Chelmsford, Essex, with a love for all things tropical, colourful and sassy. Lucy was on board with our ideas right away, and, with the help of some beautiful makeup from Ella of Ella Charles Makeup and Ben of Benjamins Hairstyling and Makeup Artistry, our model was set to go. With the help of Amy of Anthology Vintage Hire, too, we had some beautiful furniture in the mix, and we were all guns a-blazing on the day of the shoot.

Our model, Lorraine Douglas, was the perfect rock chick for the looks we created - and yes, you read right, looks. We styled three different dresses on the day, from the oh-so-boho yet still deadly Poision Ivy look, to the zingy Ziggy Stardust dip dye dress, to the piece de resistance, the glamorous Heart of Glass gown. These were the perfect accompaniment to Writtle College's rather tropical greenhouse, because, who wouldn't want to get married in the tropics?!

It was a wonderful day, and we are very fortunate to have been featured in a few blogs too, including Bespoke Bride and Before the Big Day!

So here you go, I hope you enjoy!
