Intimate Outdoor DIY Summer Wedding at Prested Hall | Sophie and Christian | Grace Elizabeth | Alternative Wedding Photographer, Colchester, Essex
Ooh am I excited to show you this wedding!
When I met up with Sophie for a raspberry lemon-lime soda at a local pub a few months ago, I knew she was my kinda bride! We chatted about her wedding plans to long-term fiancé, Christian, and her eyes absolutely lit up as she spoke about him. They're just the cutest couple, and you will just see how in love they are!
They hired me for a few hours of coverage at their small intimate wedding at Prested Hall, a beautiful little venue in Feering, just outside of Colchester. I arrived before the bride and her girls, who arrived fashionably late, decked out in their PJ's, with their hair and makeup done, carrying boxes of flowers and accessories (you don't know bridal prep madness until you've experienced it!) Krystle Hill was the first person I met, and she helped me get some photos of Sophie's lovely lace dress from David's Bridal. When Sophie and the girls burst through the door as excited as anything, Krystle set to work finalising Sophie's hair whilst the rest of them got into their pastel pink floaty bridesmaids dresses. After finally deciding on which shoes she would wear (not an easy choice - hence the two sets of photos!) she saw herself in the mirror for the first time and looked absolutely stunning. Crying ensued, but the makeup by Emine Sami stayed right on - which was great, as the day was so emotional!
A few minutes later, Sophie's dad arrived to see her for the first time and I think the word 'proud' was an absolute understatement. He then walked her to her super cool groom Christian, at their outdoor ceremony, and I would be lying if I said I wasn't crying at this point too! Sophie looked absolutely stunning, and her flowers put together by her sister at Pollie and Petals just complemented the entire look.
Following the beautiful ceremony, we headed inside for tear-jerking speeches from her dad, husband, father-in-law and best friend, and after that, I left them to enjoy their day!
I think the photos speak for themselves really, but it was such a lovely day, full of beautiful, emotional moments, and a wedding I am so grateful to have been a part of. Thank you eternally, Sophie and Christian, for inviting me to be a part of your day.
I hope you'll enjoy! As always, if you're not fed up of me yet, you can join my newsletter, here, too!
